Dawson and Knute have woken from their winter slumber, birds of prey are exhibiting nesting behaviours, new animals are being introduced to each other, wild ducks are pairing up, the first buds of greenery are emerging, and we're now open daily! Spring is a beautiful time to visit the BC Wildlife Park, and we are hopping with excitment to welcome you back to our annual Easter Egg-citement weekend!
Hop aboard the Wildlife Express Miniature train (tickets are $1.00, cash only), say hello to all the animals at the Family Farm, practice your gathering skills at the easter egg hunt, laugh with Uncle Chris the Clown, check out the scavenger hunt and colouring contest, get your face painted by the skilled artists at Kamloops Art Party (by donation), check out the animal encounters, feed talks, and more. Wild Times Await You!
It's not only the bears at the Wildlife Park that are starting to wake from their winter slumber, but also bears in the wild! That means it's time to remove all attractants from our yards. What's an attractant, and how can you help keep wildlife wild? Check out this month's conservation minute, featuring Waking Bears to find out.
Time to dust off the crayons, print off an age appropriate colouring sheet, and drop off your masterpiece in the Education Centre, to be entered to win a prize pack! Don't have a printer at home? Don't fret, a colouring station will be set up April 15-18 for your convenience.
